Comodo Antispam Solution Surpasses a Quarter of a Billion Emails Filtered
Comodo’s Cloud-Based Email Antispam Protection for Corporate Mail Servers Blocks Spam and Malware; Helps Keep Enterprise IT Infrastructures Secure
Clifton, NJ, September 15, 2015 — The Comodo organization, a global innovator and developer of cybersecurity solutions, today announced that its cornerstone antispam solution Comodo Antispam Gateway (ASG), has surpassed a quarter of a billion emails filtered for its customers.
Of the quarter of a billion emails filtered by Comodo ASG, more than 175 million were found to be spam and over 1.2 million viruses were blocked by ASG. A live, running total of all three categories can be found on the Comodo ASG tracker: https://www.comodo.com/business-security/email-security/antispam-gateway.php
Comodo ASG is a pre-perimeter defense for on-premise or hosted mail servers that defends against spam, phishing emails and virus-infected attachments, helping to keep corporate use of email safe and protected.
Because Comodo ASG is cloud-based, its zero-maintenance, no single-point-of-failure, mail-filtering benefits assist IT Administrators and Directors by avoiding traditional hardware and software total cost of ownership. The centralized, web-based management console makes it easy for IT administrators to control spam filtering on networks of all sizes.
“Cyber criminals today count on the most business-critical tool, email, as a way to penetrate corporate IT environments – and Comodo ASG has successfully filtered and blocked those attempts over a quarter of a billion times, said Michél Bechard, Director of Service Provider Technologies at Comodo. “Comodo Antispam Gateway is successfully keeping malware, phishing links and spam away from corporate environments thereby protecting both the user and the company overall.”
Comodo ASG can indirectly help protect a company’s reputation as well through filtering outbound email thus preventing spambot-infected computers from sending spam outside of the Antispam Gateway environment, thereby preventing the company’s domains or IP addresses from being listed by the Domain Name System Real Time Black Hole (DNSRTB) list.
With Comodo ASG, IT Administrators and Directors can add users and domains, define user-groups and user permissions, configure mail blacklists and whitelists, and manage quarantined emails. Comodo Antispam Gateway uses the Mail Exchange records in a company domain’s Domain Name Server to direct all email to Comodo’s Antispam Gateway first. This intercepts an organization’s spam and virus-laden email before it reaches the corporate mail server. Messages which are clean, or whose senders are whitelisted, are then passed to the original mail server address and on to the organization’s email users. Messages flagged as spam can also be reviewed by users at any time.
