Internet Group (iG), Brasil Telecom’s internet branch, Selects SSL Certificate Provider Comodo’s flagship control panel solution, H-Sphere, To manage web hosting operations.
Solution provides Brasil Telecom with unparalleled operational scalability enabling efficient and automated customer provisioning and service
Jersey City, NJ (Nov 21st 2006) – Comodo, through their Web Hosting and server automation division PSOFT, today announced that Brasil Telecom has selected Comodo’s H-Sphere solution to provide web hosting automation for its new line of internet services dedicated to small and medium size businesses (SMB), called iG Empresas. The multi-year deal is seen as a critical enabling technology for iG to be able to generate and fully leverage revenue from their large and growing base of 40,000 web host customers.
Brasil Telecom Group is a leading telecommunications and web hosting operator in Brazil. Brasil Telecom Group offers a full range of services: local fixed-line telecommunications, domestic and international long distance fixed-line telecommunications, mobile telecommunications, data transmission, data center and Internet services, which provide a full range of converging services with a unified vision and mutual synergy. iG is the largest internet access provider (ISP) of Latin America, reaching 28% of the Brazilian residences that has computers and was the first free Internet access provider in Brasil. Today, beyond free access and broadband access, value-added services offered include e-mail, hosting, multimedia content, Wi-fi, among others. Approximately 1 million subscribers pay for services, including broadband access and value-added services.
Internet Group Ltda (iG) chose H-Sphere over rival solutions primarily because of the unparalleled ease with which it can be integrated into iG’s existing, well established infrastructure. H-Sphere’s built in billing system and multi-currency support allowed iG to provision its very large local customer base without recourse to a third party solution outside of the control panel. H-Sphere’s multi-language support and almost infinite scalability also were key criterion in H-Sphere’s selection by iG.
H-Sphere is a leading web hosting control panel widely recognized as uniquely suited to meet the demands of large scale hosting operations. It offers a complete client control panel, an admin interface, private label reselling, built-in SSL certificate management tools, virtual private servers, dedicated server hosting, MS Exchange hosting, integrated billing, trouble ticket system and powerful clustering capabilities – even allowing the management of multiple Linux, FreeBSD & Win200x servers in one centralized cluster. “H-Sphere has proven itself to be one of the world’s most scalable, cost effective and versatile web host control panel and we are delighted to be able to offer this functionality to iG,” said Melih Abdulhayoglu, President and CEO of Comodo. “This partnership represents a perfect synergy between two forward-looking and innovative companies. iG can now offer their customers a single, centralized control system for the management and development of websites while benefiting from H-Spheres unique billing solution and multi currency and language support.”
